Welcome home, Alice... Sort of... Kind of... Not Really

For those of you who have not seen the new SyFy (<-- what the hell is that, by the way? Are we all suddenly too dumb to read the actual spelling of the shortened version of the word Science Fiction? I think not, America, so get your head out of your ass.) version of Alice, brought to you by the makers of Tinman, let me just fill you in now. AWESOME plot. ADORABLE ending.

But I have a few gnawing questions.

What the hell was up with Alice? I mean, I am totally for the altering of characters to change the plot of a rather pointless story into one with almost fairytale principle, but... Alice is a karate instructor with commitment issues because her dad "ran out on her" ten years ago? What is that? I could see if she was a yoga instructor with a severe sense of absent-mindedness and a cat in her studio apartment. Personally, I'm pretty sure Alice would have been a much better character if the writers had not written her as a bitch. Or at least cast someone who was blonde. Try to keep with the basics, okay?

Don't get me wrong, in some ways the tried very hard. The Hatter (notice they dropped "mad" from his title) runs a tea shop. The queen cuts everyones head off, the king stands idly by... There's a caterpillar who seems to know all, and a criminally insane March hare. Granted the hare is an assassin, but that's beside the point.

Another question is why the Hatter and the March hare aren't buddies. There's not even an illusion to a time when they were once friends, and I really think that could have added bunches to the plot line. Certainly more twists and turns than love interests and a rebellious prince.

There are certainly some saving graces, once you get past Alice's ... differences. The hatter is an awesomely thought out character, almost more like the Chesire cat in the way that he knows everything. I kind of wish he and the cat had teamed up.

Now for those of you who watched the old Disney version of Alice and claimed that this version nothing like the book, you would be quite right, as that Alice in Wonderland was absolutely nothing like the book. As the reasons everyone loves the book changes, so do the versions they come out with. If you actually read the book, you'd notice that the only characters that have ever mattered were Alice and the Queen, so quit whining about traditions and enjoy the show.

Personally, if the Hatter looked like Andrew-Lee Potts did, and I was Alice, I don't think I would have left Wonderland. It would have been a very fun place, indeed.

And He's In!!!!

Guess Who Just Got Accepted Into James Madison University's Music Department?

No, not me. The only instrument I play is the imaginary triangle.

That's Right, my boyfriend. Provided he gets in regular acceptance (which he totally will) he is going to play the bass at JMU.

Which is only a little sad for me, because I kinda want to go to VCU, and even though we never planned to go to the same school, it still kind of suck knowing we won't be going to the same school... but it's for the best, so i am so not complaining.

Anyways...

I was at work yesterday, and I swear if I had ever wanted to punch anyone in the face before, you totally just got lucky. Some people are just STUPID. It only takes about two seconds to prepare an order, A minute if its a big one. Why did it take this kid TWENTY MINUTES? He freaking LOST four sandwiches!!! I know, I made the stupid things. And how do you lose a sandwich?! It goes in a bag, you hand the bag out to people. if you're not doing that, then the sandwiches shouldn't be going anywhere.

But I swear, I work with some of the dumbest people known to the history of mankind.

*sighs* I so need a new job...

R.I.P My Darling Elizabeth

Apparently today marks the 62nd anniversary of the one of the most infamous unsolved murders in Los Angeles history. Which is amazing, because all of my College applications just happened to be due today. Figure that one out.

They are all in now so excuse me whilst I commence my happy dance of joy

(>^.^)> ... <(^.^)>... <(^.^<)

Okay I'm Done.

But anyway, yesterday totally sucked. FOUR hours with the teacher from HELL. Seriously, if I had to pick a level of hell, sitting through his class that long totally qualifies as... the sixth. Or Seventh, but it totally depends on what I did to get stuck with his ass for that long.

But apperently the Literary magazine has to fnd sponsers to give us money this year, so if anyone can think of people willing to give away 500 bucks or so to a magazine filled with teenage soliloquies, let me know. otherwise Ev and I will totally be spending Saturday traipsing about Stafford in search for friendly people to give us money.

WE COULD BE HOBOS!!!!!!

If Only Life Were That Simple

And So...

I have created my LJ.

Not my first, granted, but, hey, if your buddy's been bugging you about one for two years, you'd make one too.

( You hear that, Ev? I hope you are content with me now.)

But as a start I suppose I should say hello to everyone out there in LJ land, then i should pause and consider the three papers I should totally be writing right now...

I think I'll go do that for now....

Yeah, failing sounds bad...
